Online Bariatric Psych Evals
Welcome to Online Bariatric Psych Evals.
We provide pre-surgical bariatric psychological evaluations online. Our aim is to provide evaluations for people seeking bariatric surgery, that comply with HIPAA standards, while allowing the flexibility that people need. By completing the evaluation online you will receive exactly the same standard of care that you would receive if you came to our office with the added convenience of being able to complete the evaluation on your schedule.
Who we are?
Online Bariatric Psych Evals was created by Dr. James Glynn to provide patients with an alternative option to having their evaluation conducted in a doctors office. Dr. Glynn is a clinical psychologist who through his work with Sakowitz Counseling (where he is still affiliated as a practice owner and performs in-office evaluations), has performed over 12,000 pre-surgical bariatric evaluations. Dr. Glynn is licensed as a psychologist in New Jersey, New York, Arizona, Colorado, Indiana, Delaware, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oregon, and Ohio. He is also a registered telehealth provider in Florida and holds a PSYPACT license mobility passport, meaning he is able to practice in over 20 additional U.S. States (For more information about the PSYPACT mobility passport check out our FAQ's page).
***Please note that evaluations are valid for all surgeons within the United States. Dr. Glynn only needs to be able to practice in the State that you will be present in at the time of the evaluation***
How does it work?
Evaluations are completed in 3 easy steps.
1) Schedule your appointment by calling 9736960800 or by using the patient portal.
2) Complete the intake and psychological assessment form.
3) Complete video interview.
How much will it cost if I don't have insurance or my insurance will not cover the evaluation?
Dr. Glynn charges a flat courtesy fee of $175. This covers everything that Dr. Glynn does related to the evaluation (psychological assessment scoring and review prior to the appointment, the patient clinical interview, and the written report to the surgeon). However, Dr. Glynn is in network with most major insurance companies and as a result the evaluation often costs a typical copayment for a doctors visit.
